Join fellow alumni as we welcome Dean Villarruel
Join us on March 31st, as Dean Antonia Villarruel, PhD, RN, FAAN, shares how Penn Nursing is developing solutions to some of today’s most pressing healthcare and health issues, and how Penn and Michigan have impacted her life and career. No two places have had greater impact on the new Penn Nursing Dean than Michigan and the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing. It was in Detroit that Dean Villarruel cultivated her clinical interests in community health and pediatrics, and at Penn Nursing where she was able to specialize her graduate studies in the nursing of children.
In varied and increasing PhD, research, teaching, and leadership roles at both the Penn and University of Michigan Schools of Nursing, Dean Villarruel has developed her program of research in youth health issues. Dr. Villarruel has received major funding from the National Institutes of Health and the Center for Disease Control and her research has helped advance nursing science, education and public policy.
We are excited to welcome Dean Antonia Villarruel and hear her valuable insight and inspirational story.
