Fox
Leadership and Penn Alumni Student Society
Alumni
Mentoring Program
Objective:
To establish meaningful, substantive relationships between students and
Penn alums, thus connecting generations of Penn students. Unlike most
college mentoring programs, the Fox and PASS Mentoring Program will
encourage a continuation of these relationships post graduation.
·
Recruiting
alumni from all classes to participate in the program during
the 2004-2005 academic year and beyond.
·
Each
match will be carefully considered by a committee composed of Fox and
PASS committee members to ensure the best possible interaction between
students and alumni.
·
Matches
will be based, in no particular order, on seniority (juniors and seniors
will be given priority), compatibility, and availability.
·
After
pairings are completed, a reception will be held to facilitate initial
introduction.
·
An
evaluation form for both parties will be issued to measure the success
of the pairing and to refine the process for future mentoring endeavors.
·
If
at any point either party is unsatisfied with the pairing, the selection
committee will be available to consider alternative pairings.

*
To fully satisfy our objective, we will encourage relationships in which
regular meetings/correspondence occur. This will ultimately lead to a
more meaningful mentoring experience. In turn, we ask that both parties
be willing and able to commit a fair amount of time and energy to this
Program (while a minimum may be required, we imagine each pairing may
merit individual consideration).
Additionally,
it is the responsibility of the student to initiate contact with their
mentor. Upon contact, it is encouraged that both mentor and mentee
discuss guidelines for future communication including, how often they
would like to contact each other and by what means.
